Since 1991, The North Texas Chapter of the Texas Association of Assessing Officers has honored Tom Landrum with the Annual TOM LANDRUM INVITATIONAL GOLF TOURNAMENT.

Mr. Landrum passed away August 26, 2002. We are proud to continue the tournament in his honor.

Tom Landrum began his service in the property tax profession in 1946. He served the cities of Tyler, Sherman, Pasadena and retired form the City of Garland as Director of Taxation from 1958 through 1981. During his tenure his office received the Achievement Award as the most outstanding tax office in Texas.

Tom holds CTA Certificate #22. He held every office in the North Texas Chapter of TAAO and served as Treasurer, Vice President and President of the Texas Association of Assessing Officers. He also served as State Chairman of the International Association of Assessing Officers.

From 1984 to 1996, Tom served on the Board of Directors of the Dallas Central Appraisal District, and as its chairman in 1994-95.

Tom Landrum represented his profession as a man of honor and integrity. He was a gentleman in the truest sense of the word, and was respected by all who knew him.

The 1st ANNUAL TOM LANDRUM INVITATIONAL GOLF TOURNAMENT occurred in 1991 at the Canton Country Club in Canton, Texas.
